What is PayaShell and what is behind the brand?

Sleeves, deck boxes, binders, trading cards - and a little turtle in the middle.

I would like to introduce you to my brand, which I set up in 2024.
What is behind PayaShell and what does this brand actually mean?

In 2024, I finally got the chance to get one step closer to my dream: I have a production company with which I can develop, test and realise new products for the TCG world. I have so many ideas in my head and I really want to realise and share them. Of course, a brand makes sense for this. So I sit down to brainstorm and collect lots of names and terms with their associated meanings and effects.

I quickly realised that the turtle is the perfect symbol for protection and durability. Characteristics that current TCG products are often unable to fulfil.

But which name fits? 

At first, another name catches my attention. I develop the first products under this name and test them with a few players from my community. However, the longer we talk about these products, the clearer the name PayaShell becomes. On the one hand, it's my name, which is based on Cassiopeia as a turtle name, and on the other, it's the English name for a turtle shell. A turtle is protected by its shell, and the same happens with your trading cards: they are protected by a surrounding case like a turtle and are therefore safe. 

The background to the name is now clear.

What about the logo?

The symbol of the brand is a turtle, so it makes sense for me to design the logo accordingly. Initially, it's a simple turtle shell. But I wanted it to move forwards a little, which is why I put it on a wave. When designing the wave, I realised that it might look a bit like the turtle's body. I therefore adapt the design. The result is a turtle shell on a wave, which is also a turtle as a whole.

How did I decide on the colours?

Turtles live in the water and are often found near bays. The water there is usually turquoise blue. Turquoise water is very clear and clean. At the same time, the colour turquoise stands for freedom and strength. These characteristics suit my PayaShell brand.

What does all this have to do with trading card games?

Trading cards have to be protected - that's obvious. The turtle shell stands for very special and reliable protection. It has several layers and is very resistant to external influences. My products do the same.

A turtle shell is also streamlined. This shape ensures that turtles can move quickly and elegantly in the water. The additional use of currents in the water ensures rapid progress without much effort. Turtles usually swim in groups. The waves in the logo are this propulsive current. My brand and my products are constantly improving and moving the world of TCG forwards. Together with the community, the products can be constantly utilised and changed in order to develop optimal products. 

PayaShell is not limited in its possibilities. My production company has many opportunities to try out new designs and processes and to implement them in the end. Clear and prompt communication ensures that challenges can be solved quickly and new ideas are implemented swiftly. The freedom of the turquoise colour has a special meaning in the logo.

I know that all sounds very abstract. It's a rough summary of the brand meaning and the thoughts I had in the background. Of course, there is much more to it than that and it took a long time to develop a clear strategy. You can now admire the result and help shape it.

What is my goal with PayaShell?

I want to create products that last a long time, are stable and reliably protect your favourite cards. It is very important for me to achieve these goals together with you as a community and to continue developing the products together. I am happy to receive any feedback, opinions and requests. As I want to offer you the best products, I do everything I can to test and try out your ideas. Of course, I will take you with me on this journey.

How do I want to achieve my goal and what can you expect from PayaShell in the coming months?

I am in constant dialogue with you as a community, various local game stores, TCG players, manufacturers and my production company. In addition to the products currently on offer, I will always be testing new products and developing new ideas in the background.
